LAGOON 500, Year built: 2007, Major Refits 2022-2025, 5 Cabin Layout
The Lagoon shipyard, which belongs to the French Bénéteau Group, has been the
world market leader in cruising catamarans for decades.
The design office Van Petenghem / Lauriot Prévost, which also enjoys an excellent
reputation, was responsable for the design and layouts.
She is a reliable and fast cruising catamaran that offers maximum comfort at sea and
at anchor.
With 360° panoramic views in the salon and bright, airy cabins, this ship offers
plenty of living space, plenty of privacy and many cozy lounge areas for chatting,
celebrating and dining al fresco on a floor space of approx. 135m² + flybridge.
Although FRIENDSHIP was built in 2007, she maintains the highest standard of
maintenance and has constantly been updated in terms of safety, appearance and
comfort.
Under Sail
Although not a Racer, the sailplan with a 97.2m² full batten mainsail with three
reefing points and a 62.4 m² furling Genoa, makes her a fast, very safe and
comfortable cruising-catamaran. If sailed conservatively with maximal comfort the
cruising speed is still easily 7-8 kts while two-digit numbers can be achieved, by
simply putting up a bit more canvass and switch on “sport mode”
For light breezes and deep courses she comes equipped with a 120m² Genacker on
an endless furler, which makes hoisting and lowering easy.
Thanks to powerful electric winches this boat is easily handled by a crew of 2.
With both engines at roughly 2000 rpms cruising speed is 7.5-8 knts, fuel
consumption about 9l/hour.
Switch one engine off and you still run at 6.5 knts with at only 4.5l / hour.
Steering from the flybridge or from inside the salon if it is too sunny or rainy outside.
Either way – always with great overview.
Outdoors
Vast deckspace – forward cockpit – aft cockpit with wetbar on one level with salon
floor create the perfect platform for outdoor living. Plenty of space to socialize or be
on your own – take a sunbath, enjoy the scenery from the elevated flybridge or have
a cool drink in the shaded aft cockpit.
The aft cockpit has a full convertible enclosure, that can be used for more privacy in
port, keep out the sun and of course provide a cozy living space for al-fresco dining,
even if wind and weather are not so welcoming.
Customized enlarged sugar-scoops allow for two spacious bathing platforms that
make boarding the dinghy, SUP or kayak a lot more comfortable and safe.
Both platforms are equipped with an outdoor-shower (one with hot / cold water) and
on with an extra strong and long swimming ladder with handrails.
Indoors
Spacious Salon with 360° view. Bright and well ventilated. New dark tinted glass for
privacy and UV-protection. Sliding door and sliding window towards the cockpit for
easy communication. All windows and doors are equipped with curtains or pleaded
shades.
Expandable table and L-setee for up to 10 people.
U-shaped galley with 4 flame propane stove, oven, remote control for gas, 2 flame
induction stove. Full-size dishwasher, ice maker, bread baker, air-fryer.
Plenty of storage in cupboards, drawers and salon-floor.
